As this is a trading game, everyone will need to understand the currency of the game. It is our own coinage that we have had minted and so please do not bring your own coins as it will only confuse everyone. These coins have no real-world value in £’s, and are not to be bought and sold out of character. In the game the coins have no fixed value , so characters are free to make their own deals as they like, but remember that some will be more “savy” than others.
There are four different coins in the worldgame and in increasing value they are:
The small silver coins: There are five different coins, to represent different mints, but they are all worth the same amount and are all called Pennies. They are about the same size as a modern 5p.
The bigger silver coin: This is called a Shilling, and it's worth 12 Pennies. It's about the same size as a modern 10p.
The smaller gold coin: This is called a Gold Crown (it has a picture of a bearded guy wearing a laurel crown on it). It's worth 20 Shillings, and is very slightly bigger than them.
The big gold coin: This is called a Soverign, and it's worth 5 Gold Crowns. A single Soverign is a fairly vast amount of money all by itself. It's about the same size as a modern £2 coin.
