Old Roma, to some the heights of the civilised world, to others the depths. Wealth and decadence beyond the dreams of most, this huge, walled city is home to the screaming desires of over a 100,000 souls.
Roma was the first, and as such most things that have helped to shape the other cities started here. Walls of a height and strength to deter the most determined raider, ships that carry goods from far away shores, private martial companies to protect against lawlessness, Noble families and Merchant houses that work to ensure that all the wealth in the known world finds its way into their coffers.
Whilst commerce remains first amongst equals in the other cities, for Roma it is the only love. All things have their price, and morality is but another market to be traded within. Woe betide those who are unable to pay their debts, for they and their kin will be found to pay in whatever terms the bond-holder sees fit.
A large part of Roma’s success lies in the monopolies their Noble & Merchant Houses own with the Tezcatax. Centuries of peace with the Jaguar-Sun Empire have allowed Roma to take full advantage of their pre-eminence, so that the line between where their interests begin and those of the Tezcatax end is a blurred one.
The cries of those to the north have yet to be heard above the revelry.
